The Scottish Stroke AHP Forum (SSAHPF) is for AHPs, AHP support staff and AHP students with an interest in stroke working in Scotland.

Aims of forum

  • To promote awareness of the essential role of Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) in stroke
  • To facilitate networking, support and mentorship
  • To share and develop knowledge and expertise in stroke
  • To promote education, training and best practice for AHPs working in stroke
  • To promote, facilitate and disseminate stroke research and to encourage implementation of research findings
  • To influence decision making on local/national policies and guidelines

About SSAHPF

The Scottish Stroke AHP Forum’s (SSAHPF) main aim is to promote the highest quality of rehabilitation for people with stroke.

This is achieved by playing an active part in influencing AHP developments and services at local and national levels. The forum also participates and promotes research in clinical stroke rehabilitation. This helps to improve life after stroke for all stroke patients, their families and carers.

Meetings are held quarterly in either Glasgow or Edinburgh. Opportunities for teleconferencing and videoconferencing are available to encourage participation from remote and rural areas.
